The Sahiwal district administration has demolished 12 illegal housing societies along with concrete structures built at their sites. The action is part of an ongoing crackdown against unauthorized housing schemes that are operating without the required legal approvals.
According to a report published on September 4, 2026, the demolition operation continued for around two weeks and was jointly conducted by PERA Force, local police and revenue department officials. The operation was carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner and District Council Administrator Asif Raza.
The affected housing schemes were located within the jurisdiction of District Council, Pakpattan. Authorities had previously declared all 12 schemes illegal after they failed to fulfil mandatory legal requirements.
According to officials, most of the housing societies had not obtained approval for their layout plans from the Zila Council. The administration reportedly issued separate notifications and reminders before taking enforcement action.
